European olives captivate Indian chefs with their exotic flavor

AAHAR (International Food and Hospitality Fair) celebrated its 36 edition at the the iconic Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on March 14th to 18th, 2023

From 14 to 18 March 2023, the AAHAR (International Food and Hospitality Fair) took place at the iconic Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. Here the versatility of European Olives was demonstrated through delicious recipes in a gastronomic event led by renowned Indian chef Nishant Choubev as part of the promotional campaign «Europe at your table with Olives from Spain» – promoted by the Table Olive Interprofessional Organization (Interaceituna) and backed by the European Union-.

The presence of European Olives at this highly anticipated event captivated vendors, importers, catering and restaurant professionals, chefs and food industry associations with its ability to enhance aromatic Indian dishes.

In particular, renowned Indian chef Nishant Choubey enlightened professionals on the countless culinary possibilities of European olives through five mouth-watering recipes and four different dressings made with this age-old food. He also offered a master class and exclusive tastings for visitors.

Choubey knows that European Olives have all the qualities needed to elevate any recipe, from the simplest to the most complicated. They are delicious and sophisticated, and their quality makes them a universal product that transcends cooking styles and borders. They have a culinary universe with the four flavours: bitter, sour, sweet and salty. As a harmonising ingredient, olives combine perfectly with biryani rice, tandoori chicken, chutney, mint lassi, vegetable samosas, modak and machher jhol.
